It was time to get the gang back together after our pandemic related hiatus!  We networked in the newest addition to Saratoga CoWorks on 92 Congress Street. Make-A-Wish was our featured non-profit group and we learned about their all-important mission of making dreams come true to children and their families.

Racing City Brewing Company hosted our September gathering in their tasting room on Excelsior Ave. We also learned about Coesa‘s mission of wellness and new facilities they are creating in the Saratoga Spa State Park.

Our May SWIB gathering was hosted by The Savory Pantry at their location at 486 Broadway in Saratoga Springs, and our not-for-profit spotlight for May was on Beyond My Battle, which helps people and their loved ones manage the emotional stress of illness and disability though mindfulness, positivity, and self-care.

Saratoga CoWorks (462 Broadway) hosted our March gathering in their beautiful new location on Broadway. We also learned about the unique heart attack and stroke symptoms that women may experience from representatives of the American Heart Association.

December SWIB gathering was co-hosted by Homebridge Financial Services and The Shannon McCarthy Real Estate Team (both located in The Mill [Van Raalte Building] at 125 High Rock Ave. in Saratoga Springs), and our not-for-profit spotlight for December was on Sustainable Saratoga.

TOGA HERITAGE and Silverwood Home & Galleries (398 Broadway) co-hosted our October gathering in their fantastic store. We also learned about The Hyde Collection, one of the Northeast’s exceptional small art museums with distinguished collections of European and American art.

The SWIB event for March was hosted by our friends at Iron Roost in Ballston Spa (36 Front St.). Our 5-minute not-for-profit spotlight for March was on the Veterans and Community Housing Coalition, which provides housing and support services to homeless military veterans and their families, as well as low-income households.

Saratoga Women in Business gathering was hosted by Salerno Law in their historic office in Ballston Spa! Our not-for-profit spotlight organization was the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation. We had a fantastic turnout! Thank you for hosting us!

Our September Saratoga Women in Business gathering was hosted by drb Business Interiors. The September non-profit spotlight was on Saratoga Economic Development Corporation (SEDC), which works to retain existing businesses while creating new jobs in Saratoga County.

We were able to check out their fabulous new space, which was recently renovated while maintaining the classic, intimate feel that made them world-famous in the folk music world! The Saratoga Women in Business (SWIB) group held their May meeting on the beautiful patio of Complexions Spa (268 Broadway, Saratoga Springs, www.complexions.com), overlooking Congress Park. The May non-profit spotlight was on Habitat for Humanity, which through the help of volunteers and donations, works to provide affordable housing for the less fortunate.

Our November Saratoga Women in Business gathering was hosted by Julie & Co. Realty in their elegant new headquarters. Our 5-minute not-for-profit spotlight for November was on Saratoga Hospital’s Flower and Fruit Mission, which raises money to benefit the hospital’s William J. Hickey Women’s Services unit and provides scholarships for advanced nursing education.

Every SWIB meeting includes a 5-minute presentation by a local woman-led non-profit organization. Our spotlight for May was on our hosts, Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC)–their programs and mission.

The March SWIB gathering was held in the Arches Room at The Gideon Putnam Hotel, located in the Spa State Park. The setting in this historic landmark hotel was beautiful, and the staff prepared a wonderful assortment of appetizers and beverages for our enjoyment.

The January SWIB event was hosted by Universal Preservation Hall, which was also our spotlight not-for-profit. This beautifully preserved building is used for a variety of arts and social events, and our gathering was fun and festive as usual!

For November, we were treated to a special SWIB discount for purchases at our host venue, Frivolous Boutique. Additionally, our group donated money and a box FULL of personal care products to our not-for-profit spotlight organization, CAPTAIN Youth & Family Services‘ emergency food pantry.

The patio of Look TV made for the perfect setting of this month’s gathering! We had a great group and lucked out with beautiful weather for the last official day of summer. Our non-profit spotlight was on Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region, an organization that pairs children with positive adult role models.

We had a great turnout at Saratoga Learning Center! In addition to fellowship, food, and wine, we enjoyed a short presentation about our not-for-profit spotlight organization, ACTT Naturally, a local woman-run program that retrains off-track thoroughbreds for new futures, partnering the horses with women who are overcoming adversity.
